If you are affected
- Call the Marsh Advantage Insurance cyclone hotline on 1300 725 277 to speak to an adviser about business recovery, claims lodgement and any general enquiry relating to how the cyclone has impacted you
- Do what you can to prevent further loss. Ensure that business continuity and disaster recovery plans have been appropriately implemented, make adjustments as needed, and take reasonable steps to preserve your property, inventory, and operations to avoid further losses or extended downtime and continue to maintain safe conditions for employees.
- Carefully track and document details. If you experience damage to property or interruption to your business activities, carefully track and document specific details, causes of loss, and costs, and note which storm caused the damage. This information will be necessary to accurately measure and present claims to insurers.
- Account for affected colleagues. Employees could be personally affected by the storm, so ensure that human resources policies for dealing with temporary absences are well understood at all levels, that roles and responsibilities are covered by others as needed, and that disaster-relief and humanitarian-assistance plans are activated.
